They say everything is bigger in Texas, and this native is used to helping folks get through major family and relationship issues.
Candrea first served families and adolescents as a middle school teacher for 6 years. She utilized her B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Stephen F. Austin State University to teach, nurture, and mentor adolescents in underprivileged communities. Along with providing academic support, she connected with students who struggled with their identity and self-confidence, advocating immensely for those who also faced emotional and social instability. It was this work that prompted her to obtain her M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University to better serve the families in her community.
Now, combining her years in education and clinical therapy in private practice and outpatient settings, Candrea has 10 years of experience working with families, couples, and individuals in distress. Not to mention, Candrea is in school (again! LOL) pursuing a license in marriage and family therapy while working towards her PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in Culture, Diversity and Social Justice in a Global Context. She is dedicated to providing culturally sensitive care and effective treatment for those in need.
Candrea has made it her mission to help families gain clarity and mental health wellness. Her specialties include couple/family related issues, cultural issues, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and PTSD.
Fun facts: I like the vocal backgrounds and ad libs on the songs…they are the BEST part! duh!
