Dr. Joy Mwendwa

Picture
Transitions, relationships, and life experiences can bring challenges and growth opportunities. I commend you for taking this first to explore your next step on how wellness can fit into your life. I provide individual, couples, and group counseling. My style is collaborative as I value your expertise in your own journey. We will work together closely to identify goals that address what might be hindering your relational, spiritual, academic, or professional satisfaction. I would be privileged to walk alongside you. "Kwakya kwa mundu ni vala wamukila" (Kikamba proverb) "My morning is when I wake up".

I have been in the counseling profession for 15 years. As a licensed counselor, I use my professional, academic, and human experience to connect with you during counseling. As a first-generation American, whose 3rd language is English, my worldview is marked with spirituality and other languages, which may show up in session through proverbs or songs.

I commend you for taking this first to explore your next step on how wellness can fit into your life right now. I am reminded that life is about small steps, so, thank you for taking steps to find your fit. I would be blessed and privileged to walk alongside you at this time.
