Find Relief from Anxiety, Depression, and Relationship Struggles with Compassionate, Insight-Oriented Psychotherapy
I'm Kimberly Woodard, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over two decades of experience helping individuals move beyond pain, confusion, and disconnection toward lives that feel more authentic and fulfilling. I specialize in working with adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, difficulty expressing emotions, or feeling stuck in unhealthy relationship patterns.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked nationally to create safer communities for women and children. That experience deepened my belief that lasting change begins when we stop treating symptoms in isolation and start understanding the deeper patterns driving them. That belief continues to guide my work today.
In therapy, I create a space where you can safely explore what’s beneath the surface—without judgment or pressure. Whether you’re overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by depression, or repeating the same painful cycles in your relationships, I help you uncover the roots of those experiences so you can begin to change them.
You may feel unsure about how to express what you’re going through—or even where to begin. That’s okay. I’ll meet you where you are, with warmth, patience, and curiosity. Together, we’ll make sense of what’s holding you back and help you find new ways to respond to yourself and others.
I currently treat individual adults in Maryland and DC through my virtual practice. I earned a Master’s degree in Counseling from Johns Hopkins University, and have completed post-graduate training in psychotherapy at some of the nation’s oldest and most well-respected clinical training programs. I also train other therapists as a faculty member at the New Washington School of Psychiatry, where I teach advanced clinical skills rooted in depth, empathy, and effectiveness.
I help my clients understand the origins of their struggles and use this insight to change their lives. It may seem like you’re stuck in the same unhelpful patterns that have kept you miserable, but you don’t have to be. I’ll invite you to be curious about who you are, why you do the things that you do, and how you respond to the people in your life. It may be not always be comfortable, but you won’t be alone. I’ll be there with you.
Accepting virtual clients only.
