Queer Affirmative Therapy envisions a society where the mental and emotional well being of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ people are affirmed, where safety is a priority and where healing is rooted in social justice.
QAT was born out of the need to have additional spaces that centers the mental health needs and wellbeing of Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer plus (LGBTQ+) communities for folks in the DMV and beyond. We envision a practice (literally and figuratively) where clients can see themselves reflected in the therapists and healers they work with.
You no longer have to explain your lived experiences, we maintain a cohort of BIPOC clinicians who identify as queer or are queer allied. We are ready, are you?
